[05:13] <stellar-slack> why you do not register my account was stellar ?
[05:37] <stellar-slack> hello! question if anyone is around
[05:37] <stellar-slack> on wikipedia it references a "root account"
[05:37] <stellar-slack> which is the initial balance of the entire network
[05:38] <stellar-slack> if I setup a testnet for just screwing around with stellar, will there be a root account created? i.e. how does the testnet get initialized with stellars to start with?
[05:38] <stellar-slack> i could not find any docs on this
[05:38] <stellar-slack> and the testnet stuff in stellar-core is pretty hard to do too
[05:38] <stellar-slack> yep there is a root account, its a row in the database with 100billion xlm
[05:38] <stellar-slack> hayashi_development=# select * from Accounts;

[05:39] <stellar-slack> oh wow, ok
[05:39] <stellar-slack> were you able to set up a local instance of stellar-core, and get it to close ledgers using --forcescp?
[05:40] <stellar-slack> as described here: https://github.com/stellar/stellar-core/blob/master/docs/testnet.md
[05:40] <stellar-slack> I was able to run those commands, but I was not able to get a multi-node cluster working
[05:40] <stellar-slack> I'm in copy/paste mode, and I think the example config is not complete for that usecase
[05:41] <stellar-slack> for example, are those values you put in the example config the /only/ things needed in the config?
[05:41] <stellar-slack> no it really isn't, but it has the necessary elements to connect to the official testnet, although i think the testnet is busted right now
[05:42] <stellar-slack> yeah the default config should have the necessary configs to connect to the testnet
[05:42] <stellar-slack> yeah, I just want to run my own network
[05:42] <stellar-slack> for tinkering
[05:42] <stellar-slack> not really participate in anything else
[05:42] <stellar-slack> so have you tried to run two nodes and get them to connect to each other? and that's where you're running into problems?
[05:43] <stellar-slack> also, alex, lets take this to #dev
[09:55] <stellar-slack> Hi All. Met @joyce this morning in Cape Town (South Africa).
[09:55] <stellar-slack> Flickswitch meddle in the Mobile Airtime "Currency" space.
[09:56] <stellar-slack> Direct integration with the Mobile Network Operators across the African continent (or that is the aim).
[09:56] <stellar-slack> Would like to get your view on the topic of Airtime as a currency and Stellar in/out flow.
[14:29] <stellar-slack> howdy @rudibarnard - thanks for joining and it was nice meeing!
[15:36] <stellar-slack> Welcome @rudibarnard
[18:56] <stellar-slack> hi , @eva : why you do not register my account was stellar ?
[18:58] <stellar-slack> hi @lovestorm203 as @joyce has already said here, " Dear everyone who writes to request help: If we look into your account when you ask for help and we find that you are misusing the giveaway and claiming more than one time, no assistance will be given."
[19:01] <stellar-slack> continuing to ask about this even after we've already answered is in violation of the community guidelines, and that behavior is not welcome here. https://www.stellar.org/community-guidelines/
[19:50] <stellar-slack> welcome @crazyquark! how'd you find out about Stellar?
